<DIV>Hi Hazen. When you look in the archives, also be sure to look for =
methods
using vice grips to bent the string around. From what I =
understand, this
is the slickest way to go. I have been using the knot in Reblitz =
with
good success also. I haven't figured out the vice grip method yet =
-
largely because I don't seem to be able to search the archives - if =
you do
find some good posts on this (maybe some from Ron N.) maybe you might =
pass
them on to me!?!?!?!? Thanks and good luck.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Regarding prevention of string breakage in church pianos, I have =
heard
that two things seem to work best. One is to provide for an earlier =
letoff -
will tend to depower the hammer striking the strings. The other =
is to
provide the pianist a 10,000 watt bank of speakers situated very =
close to
the pianist and pointed straight at her/him - with volume turned =
up real
high. This can help the pianist think that merely pounding the =
$%&# out of
the keyboard is sufficient to be heard (by all, including the
Goddesses!).</DIV>
