Geez, Mom, I'm sorry to upset you but I think we're old enough to know what=
we're doing . . .

I, too, after 27 years as a mobile piano-fixer can sometimes be found tryin=
g every door of a house-- provided I've been invited to come in regardless o=
f whether anyone's home. Sometimes they just forget to leave the door unlock=
ed or the key in the specified hiding-place.

I do draw the line at windows, though . . . won't go through a window=
unless it's ground-level.

I just use common sense. If you make lots of noise, bang on the door first,=
tool kit in hand, and don't slink around like you're trying not to be seen,=
who is likely to think that you're up to mischief?

As far as the just-raped little girl upstairs: Man, you've been watching to=
o much TV "news" . . . there really are places left in this world =
where paranoia doesn't rule. I'm sorry to hear things are so bad around Tamp=
a.
