for this
was to stabilize a broken wire replacement for a longer time. Such as =
for the
two week interval between calls or the second half of a concert. A =
unison with
a coupler was detuned until a slight roll could be heard, then the =
coupler was
removed. I believe there was almost 3 cents difference between the =
strings.
That would mean a coupler could handle a 6 cent change in pitch of a =
wire. Of
course the overall pitch of the coupled wire changes slightly

about the
"string coupling" technique that was the cover story on last month's =
Journal. Seemed to me that while the coupling might help a tuning =
seem to
last longer, the next tuning might be unduly complicated by the =
coupling. Is
