I would say that, yes, the capstans will contribute significantly to the
friction of the action, especially if the surface is not polished.
The friction and resistance also increase when the wippen cushion becomes
concave from wear, and there is actually a small change in action
leverage from a badly worn wippen cushion. <br><br>
My favorite treatment is polishing, followed by TFL-50.<br><br>
