However a method of duplication that I like involves making a template of the top of the block. .50" to .60 aluminum sheet works great. Cut it out on the bandsaw and check it to fit against the block flange on the plate. Then set it on the new block material and mark it out. Oh! by the way be sure you have it turned correctly..... Check the angle along the old block, set the band saw and cut the profile. I leave material along the opposite side so I can work the block down as I fit the flange. Cut the other side last. I use a belt sander in fitting the flange. I coat the flange with graphite power in alcohol. Give the alcohol time to dry, evaporate, and start pushing and tapping the block into the flange. The proud spots will show, remove them with the belt sander front wheel.
