Edwards supplies the foam inserts (specifically for Disklaviers) cut to =
the
proper shapes of the cavities between the beams. I've never found them =
to be all
that effective. Reducing volume requires mass, something that foam =
does not
possess much of. If you can find a source of high density foam (usually =
several
inches thick), cut it with an electric carving knife to fit. works =
better but
not completely effective either. Controlling volume is better handled by =
voicing
methods - both the piano and the environment (think drapes, rugs etc..)
Disklaviers also need to be properly calibrated to better define =
their
dynamic range during playback.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
