<BR>All the ebay type situations we have been involved with customers I can =
only think of one in which the customer was 100% pleased. And this was=
one that had been purchased from a technician or a store that had posted th=
e piano online.

<BR>And at no time did I or anyone assume that ALL pianos on ebay are bad. &=
nbsp;But it is the risk that you run when purchasing in this fashion that ma=
de me think it was not worth it.

<BR>In my experience a fair amount of pianos sold privately are sold based o=
n the "uninformed value." This "uninformed value" is not horrible for =
local private sales in which the purchasing customer has a chance to see and=
hear the piano and get it evaluated by a reputable technician. There =
are plenty of pianos in the local market (not on ebay) in which the piano is=
not even worth selling, so it is not just on ebay that these exist. B=
ut what ebay (and similar sites) do not usually allow for, logistically, is =
for the purchaser to personally evaluate the piano and also have it evaluate=
d by a technician. This is where I thought the problem lied.

<BR>And that is the reason that I made the original post. I was lookin=
g for more knowledge so I would be able to be more informed when discussing =
this subject with my customers in the future.
