my experience, new shanks/roller on 1930 S&amp;S does not solve touch =
weight
problems, but create some, because of the weight of modern parts, not to =
speak
of the geometry question. For easier repairs on these old instruments, I =

actually think it will be more useful to keep the original parts, change =

bushings, pins, roller, and find hammers with an acceptable weight and
