to go by
was a description written: rattle, squeak and hum.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Not knowing exactly where to start, I =
sat down and
began to play and immediatley heard a rattle when I played G#3 =
moderately.
I checked the soundboard quickly for anything but no luck. So, I =
crawled
under the piano to take a look. Everything looked ok, but just for =
fun, I
tightened a screw on the lone accessable soundboard button. I =
crawled back
out, and not expecting any difference, played the note again. The =
buzz was
still there, and had spread to several surrounding notes. Crawled =
back
under and tightened again. The buzz was still there but closer to =
orginal
sound. With a piece of thin steel, I checked under the plate for =
anything
on the soundboard. I checked the ribs but couldn't find any =
indication
that one was loose; but for the heck of it, I placed a wedge between a =
post and
rib, and the rattle is gone.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Well, I'm sure this isn't the right way =
to leave
it, so I'm open to suggestions.</FONT></DIV>
