<P>Roger,</P>
<P>First I wish to thank you for your thoughtful post to pianotech =
about
humane ways of dealing with this terrible situation our country is =
in.
It seems so easy to lash out in anger, but matters only get worse =
when we do
so. I just hope that a way is found to deal with things =
constructively
so that from this tragedy comes some kind of good. If that =
could only
be done, <U>then</U> I think you could truly say that this is a =
great
nation.<BR><BR>Second, a piano technical question. On your =
advice,
given quite some time ago on pianotech, I sent away for Yamaha =
damper
felt for the Steinway grand I am rebuilding. All the bass =
dampers are
now ready to go back into the piano, but I am mystified as to what =
to do
about the treble dampers? </P>
<P>In the past I have used Laroux felt and the trichords and flats =
have
worked together well and I have been able to cut them to the same
configuration that was on the piano previously. However, with =
the
Yamaha felt, the flats are sewn in the middle. If I keep the =
flats the
full width that they are, then the damper heads will have much =
longer pieces
of felt on them than they did previously and will dampen the strings =
at
different node points than they used to. Do you think this =
will cause
me a problem with the dampening?</P>
<P>Thanks for all!</P>

towards the
west.
<DIV></DIV>>Health, food, shelter, and security to live, is a =
Universal
human need.
<DIV></DIV>>Once you remove these basics, it is easy to use hate =
in any
form as a
<DIV></DIV>>rallying point. In Malaya, the Communist stole rice =
and lived
off the
<DIV></DIV>>backs of the rural population, the British dug wells =
and
built bridges.
<DIV></DIV>>They won the hearts and minds of the masses, and the =
campaign
was
<DIV></DIV>>successful. It was slow and long, and not ideal =
footage for
CNN, but it
<DIV></DIV>>is the only way. By this approach the masses will =
have hope,
and see some
<DIV></DIV>>light at the end of the tunnel. They will imform and =
give
valued
<DIV></DIV>>intellegence to get rid of the cancer, that haunts =
their
Country.
<DIV></DIV>> My personal feelings is we have to stamp out these =
animals,
my only
