had tuned
several years ago. Not much to report on the piano...but my beautiful =
Renner
voicing tool which seem to have walked out of my tool case some time =
ago, was
staring right at me from the inside of the piano. <BR>I'm a =
self-confessed
member of the involuntarily tool donation/contribution group, a =
special
selected group of mid-40ish tuners who have a nasty habit of leaving =
their

early 70s I ordered an action rail from Steinway. When it arrived the =
package
had been so badly mangled the rail was bent beyond repair and we had to =
order
another. From the original mangled rail I managed to salvage enough =
short pieces
to make handles for my grand action regulating tools. Not long =
thereafter I
managed to loose one of them. Now, fast forward to the late 1980s. I was =
doing a
class for Baldwin somewhere in the Northwest and a technician from =
Portland
approached me and asked if the regulating screwdriver he was showing me =
might be
mine. He had found it in a piano he had been servicing and remembered =
having
seen it during a class I had once done years earlier. It had come full
circle.</FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
