Course I've heard most of this and the rest of the reasoning that goes behind it several times now, and not being a highly typed informatived about the mechanics of wood in soundboards I of course can not speak to the quasi and semi quasi scientific principles aired on the PT channel. That being said, I cant help but find it simply astounding that so much that is so simple is so to thee degree ignored by many of the worlds most respected piano manufacturerers.  The usual arguementation for their childishly and obvious folly is that they are either to silly to remember why they do what their ancestors did, and indeed barely understand how they did these things, or that they are to stuborn to make any changes, somehow have never really added up. Now on the one hand, I suppose I should take the obvious route and snort a bit at the proponents of rib crowned boards, but then on the other hand my own digging into touchweight concerns has left me sometimes wondering just how many people are capable of being bonked on the head twenty times with something as simple as the concept of say.....<< addition >> without finding it necessarry to get all hung up in quarter emboweled complex invisible fractions in an gedigen excercise in demonstrating how limited their reasoning powers are. And THAT being said..... I would have to then counter-wonder if I am indeed one of these guilty such parties relative to the soundboard "To compress or NOT to compress" question. Gawd.... a dreadfull thought I must confess :)  However.... I find the fact of these factories insistance on continuence simply too compelling to allow myself such an inexpensive purchase of ideas.  So I remain unconvinced about the completness of the whole arguementation, all due respect to Del and co.
