<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Dear Everyone,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=Arial> I rarely pass =
along virus
warning emails and never without verifying them first. =
Some people write computer viruses to mess up
computers. Others who want to mess up computers, but who are not =
bright
enough to write a virus, send out virus notices, so that =
people will
delete critical files and mess up their own computers that way. DO =
NOT
EVER PASS ALONG A VIRUS WARNING WITHOUT VERIFYING IT FIRST. THAT =
IS AS
DANGEROUS AS SENDING A VIRUS YOURSELF !!! MOST VIRUS WARNINGS ARE =
HOAX'S
!!!!</FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=Arial></FONT></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2><FONT face=Arial> I have =
been bombarded
lately with the email warning about the supposed <FONT =
size=3><FONT
size=2>SULFNBK.exe. virus. This is a Windows critical file =
and
deleting it will mess up your computer. The true story is...there =
is a
virus that attacks that file if allowed in. Of course, if =
your virus
software is current...you're safe. We first got this hoax at work =
last
spring and the IT assistant passed it along without verifying it. =
They
spent all day fixing their screw up.</FONT></FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> NEVER BUY THE STORY =
THAT MCAFEE,
NORTON OR SOPHOS CANNOT FIX THE VIRUS. They take a de-compiler and =
read
the source code without opening the file. Once the source code is =
read,
they simply write a patch to undo it...it's that simple. They all =
have
places on their website where you can send them viruses. That's =
how they
make their money and within a few hours, all viruses eventually get =
sent to
them. Then they fix it. </FONT></DIV>
