It's not a problem taking all your tools with you, as long as you check
them as you are planning to do. You can leave the knives and things in
your tool case - they are only forbidden in your carry-on case.<br><br>
Your checked tool case should be sturdy, locked securely, with a luggage
tag stating the usual name, address and phone. I also mark mine
"Piano Technician's Tools" so that the X-ray people will know
what's inside. If they still are puzzled and want to talk to you,
they will simply page you in the lounge and ask you to come unlock it for
them.<br><br>
If you add some bubble pack or similar padding material, the tools will
arrive in little better shape.<br><br>
