I always measure off the spine.    If your talking 60 degrees off the belly and not the spine that translates into something close to 40 or 45 degrees measures off the spine if I,m thinking straight.   Would you mind clarifying       Thanks --Dale</blockquote>  Dale, Off the spine? What do you mean by the 'spine?' I measure off the stretcher (which is not always parallel to the bellyrail) from the left, or bass, side. That is, my 60º is 30º off perpendicular to the stretcher.
