indeed, hit the nail on the head!!!<G> I have two sets of hearing =
aids.
One set, which is outdated and are used as backups, will indeed Buzz and =
Rattle
if turned up too loud or if you are in a high noise environment!!! (This =
is
electronic DISTORTION!)</FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><FONT face="Times New Roman" =
size=3>One of the big
problems with most Hearing Aid Dispensers, (yes they have an =
accreditation
thingee like PTG.), is that they do not take the time to "talk" to the =
client
regarding the proper use, etc. The secret(s) to hearing aid use is: 1. =
if things
seem distorted, (and your aids don't have suppressor circuits), turn =
them DOWN!!
Turning them up will simply exacerbate the distortion!! 2. Hearing aids =
will NOT
bring back NORMAL hearing!!! The hearing aid is exactly that....an aid, =
so that
your life will be less stressful due to the hearing loss. =

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><FONT face="Times New Roman" =
size=3>The client you
describe is affectionately called "a power freak", by the Dispensers. =
(Somewhat
like a whole lot of guitar players I know!<G>) Sometimes this =
situation
can be solved by having a conference with the Dispenser and the Client.
Sometimes your "help" will be seen as "meddling", etc. and if that is =
the "vibe"
you are getting, don't walk away.....RUN! You'll never be able to =
convince "a
power freak" that it is their problem and not yours.
