with locktite
and or a set screw. So that is not a problem. The nut =
below must
be positioned so that the acorn nut does not bottom out. If the =
hanger
bolt is too long, I cut it off to proper length and then slot the end =
to allow
it to be turned with a flat blade screwdriver. =

the screw
is loose in the rim it might turn. I don't like it too tight and =
use
beeswax on the threads. I have on ocassion made slight =
changes in
plate height after the piano is up to pitch. Just a bit in =
certain areas
where a little more downbearing is needed. Makes you nervous
though. If a larger area were to be lowered, I'd remove every =
other nut,
turn the hanger bolts say a quarter turn, replace the nuts (not too
tight) then repeat for the alternate ones. I know that's =
scary but
you only live once.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

personal
experience with the system yet, it seems like you are trying to =
prevent an
inconsequential problem. If it the acorn nut tightens sufficiently =
within a
reasonable amount of turns after contacting the plate, that alone is =
evidence
that bolt is not turning significantly. If you can't tighten the =
acorn
nut, then maybe there is a problem.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
