Right away. They first learn to clean shop and put all tools back. What ever
job we have going at the time, they get to participate in in one way or
another. They learn right away how to clean a grand and an upright, then they
get to learn how to level square and space keys, then graduate to rebushing,
etc. They are taught how to fill climate control systems, and then later how
to install them. They help move pianos. Usually after about 1-2 months, they
can do some piano proceedure completely on their own. I try to plan their and
my schedule so that when I'm doing office stuff, they are in the shop.
