Hi John,

Before you go trying strange stuff with this damper get some Silly
Putty and stretch out enough to cover the aliquots from where the
stringing braid ends all the way to the top.  Check carefully that the
stringing braid is indeed effectively muting the waste ends of the
bass strings and the middle section _including under the bass
strings_.

This is to eliminate any possibility that you are getting sympathics
from any other source.  It is a waste of time to futz with F2 if the
source is else where.
