Steinway Seminars?

Has anyone attended one of the week long seminars at Steinway recently?
I'm wondering who ends up paying the $850 fee for the course. Do they
charge the dealer if you work for the dealer, or does the tech still pay
the fee?

I attended one of these in '86 and there was no fee and wondered if the
fee is something new.
