Ray, My suggestion is to install the string and see how it sounds. I imagine it will be fine. If it doesn't I am sure they will replace it for you. I have gotten into the habit of replacing both strings of a double unison in the bass when one breaks. That way I know they will match. At eighty some bucks a string that may be hard to do though. chris -Christopher D.
