capo-hardening?

I think there is a legitimate debate over the merits of hardening capo
bars.  A properly shaped and polished "unhardened" bar will seat nicely to
the string without bonding to it over time. I am soon to be looking at the
prospect of trying to properly shape a previously hardened bar, and not
particularly looking forward to it.
