---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment What I understand about antique value (from my parents who are into=20 antiques) is that any piece of furniture has a higher value if=20 meticulously maintained in original condition. Furniture with ornate=20 carvings which suggest old world craftsmanship will bring an even=20 higher value. Once a piece of furniture has been refinished, the value=20= plummets. And pianos are treated like furniture by antique dealers,=20 not as functional musical instruments. I would think that the same=20 would hold for replacing action parts, strings, etc., regardless of=20 playing condition or manufacturer. About 6 years ago, I saw an old Wurlitzer 5' grand that needed to have=20= been dropped from a 747, bring $6000 because it had pretty legs. =20 Nevermind that it was barely standing on them.
