A false beat caused by a bad notch, or a loose pin, will not be cleared up by tapping the string. No tapping strings, it is bad for the health of the piano. Roger I know about tapping the bridge pins. I learned that from you at a seminar. I guess I missed the point that just tapping the pins is enough, and that tapping the strings is not necessary.
