Hi John, We continue to have success using a method described in the archives; Feb. 04, 2002. Another thought to consider is the current Steinway approach, where a "tension bend" in the wire compells it to bear/travel on one side of the bushing only. This method does not require a close tolerance between wire and bushing size,.. do you get what I'm not saying? :>) Nonetheless, to avoid a lot of un-necessary wire bending, I would continue striving to duplicate the orignal. If I may John, where in the process are you experiencing dis-satisfaction; material sizing, fitting material to the rail, sizing the bushings, long-term stability, etc? sincerely, Mark Cramer, Brandon University -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org]On Behalf Of John Minor Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2004 10:24 AM To: caut@ptg.org Subject: Steinway double-bushed damper guide rail? We've had varying degrees of success rebushing these over the years. Short of making a new rail does anyone have a favorite system for rebushing these?
