I have been using RCT in the exam mode to practice for the tuning test. Can
anyone confirm that the detuning, especially in the bass is plus and minus
25c for the lower bass notes? This seems to be a little extreme to me, but
that is where RCT places the detuning.

Also, does anyone have the scoring sheet, and could email it to me?

Thanks

The scoring in the bass allows for a 25 cent tolerance. That is not her same
as the amount the strings are detuned prior to the exam tuning. If you would
have a RCT with the tuning exam program, you would see that the tuning is done
in a systematic manner. Basically it untunes the middle section by about 2
cents, and the treble and bass by about 5 - 10 cents.

Personally, however, I wouldn't worry about the amount of detuning. Just
knock the piano out of tune a little, (no more than 10 cents), and just tune it
again.

None of the exam material, including the scoring sheets, etc., are available
on line. If you want to see one, contact you CTE.
