Joe

I agree with you that there are some techs who repeat an entire post,
especially long ones. But it is nice to see what the reponse is referrring to. My
responses to your post is at the end of the paragraphs to which I want to respond.

finally, i am wondering - why is there such a stuck-up attitude around here?
the first day i subscribed to the list (a few months back) there was a
post by a woman complaining about someone else's post being too rudimentary
(it was regarding tuning method). this turned me off instantly. since
then, i read the list everyday, but have been hesitant to post anything for
fear of being condescended to and belittled.
As with any organization there are going to be individuals who have a
different attitude or opinion of what the organization is all about. But please don't
lump all of us into the same category. I think I try to be as open minded as
I can be, and give every one who posts to this list the respect they deserve.
I think you will find most of us have the same feeling.

in my postition as a university tech, i get far more out of a discussion
over practical matters than over theories of how to measure minute aspects
of action physics. i find such discussions interesting, but is this list
only for those who can contribute as such?
Most of the time I don't like all the minute aspect discussions either. So I
just don't read them, nor participate in the discussion. Maybe you could do
the same, instead of complaining about it.

joe kemple (and no, i'm not a RPT (wanna make somethin' of it?))
Why the defensive attitude? Have you tried to become one lately? As a CTE, it
is amazing how much those who pass the RPT exams get out of the procedure.
When they get done, they can't believe how much they learned in the process, and
how much better they feel about themselves as a piano technician. Try it,
you'll like it.
