[CAUT] Voicing

Use the wide end of a mute, or a clean handkerchief and your thumb, to press and hold firm the string near the strikepoint, then hit about 15 ffff blows on the key. See if that makes a subtle change in the sound, by setting the string groove surface a little harder.

As Horace said, it's all about context.

I have to tune a concert on a Hamburg Steinway D. The artist would like
to have the bass hammers brighter but not louder.

Any thoughts appreciated.

This is the first time that I've used this system. Please excuse me, if
there are any duplicates.

Thanks,

Keena Keel, RPT
