Regards Roger The hammers are relatively new, and the piano only gets played about 10 hours a month, if that much. So there are virtually no string groves. That is why I don't understand why this professor uses the pedal so much. I don't hear a difference, and I think he has just gotten in the habit, without it having any effect on the timbre. The only thing he complains about is a couple of hammers that do have a zing. Then he trashes the whole piano.
