This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Clarence, While everything that everyone else has mentioned can possibly happen, the most common cause in this model (and any model with coil springs) is noise within the coil spring. The coils don't actually overlap but can still cause noise. A strip of bushing cloth woven in and out of the coils on one side of the spring takes care of the problem and makes you the hero while making a permanent repair that others may have missed. (Remember, this applies to Baldwins and others pianos with coil trap springs.) Allan Allan L. Gilreath -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Clarence Zeches Sent: Wednesday, March 30, 2005 9:57 PM To: caut@ptg.org Subject: [CAUT] Story & Clark Prelude 152 I received a call from a music store about a squeaking pedal on a new Story & Clark Prelude 152 baby grand. Two other tech's have looked at it and have not been able to find the problem. This piano is made in China, it has the coil springs above the trap work against the piano. I will be going to look at this next week. Anyone had any experience with this problem on these pianos? I am usually able to find these problems, but any suggestions would be appreciated.
