This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment This was a replace-worn-hammers-only job. I took off totally shot Renner Blues on Renner shanks and reused the shanks. Nothing else about the action or geometry was changed. The geometry is fine, plays fine, regulates fine, so I haven't even analyzed the ratio. I'm mostly pleased at the range of tonal colors available with these hammers. Practice room pianos get such a beating that hammer replacement is a frequent necessity. Fortunately the Renner shanks and wippens outlast several sets of hammers. =20 dp =20 David M. Just curious, what SW range (and whose shanks & flanges) did you use? =20 Barbara Richmond ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Porritt, David <mailto:dporritt@mail.smu.edu> =20 To: College and University Technicians <mailto:caut@ptg.org> =20 Sent: Thursday, May 05, 2005 12:42 PM Subject: [CAUT] Ronsen Wurzens =20 I just hung my first set of Ronsen Wurzen hammers on an "M" in a practice room. I'm really happy with them and the first two pianists who have tried the piano also like them. The range of tonal colors is wonderful from dark to quite bright. The dark sound is dark by not dull. The bright fortissimo is bright but not harsh. There's just a far greater range of tones available. =20 After June 1st (the start of our new budget year) I'm ordering 3 more sets! =20 dave __________________________ David M.
