[CAUT] Pianos for piano performance majors

Jeff,

 

I don't want to come across as argumentative, but I don't have the same
experience as you expressed below. Steinways don't seem to be any easier
to maintain and don't seem to stay in regulation and tune more than
other makes we have. Of course, our practice rooms are booked full from
6:00am to 11:00pm every day! They take quite a beating. (I'm strictly
speaking of grands here.) Also, our Steinways are much older than some
of the other pianos. I guess that could be a factor. Are your S&S newer?

They're easier to maintain and last longer.  Regulation stays put, they
stay in tune, and the cabinet designs are more rugged.
