Hello John,
Yes.  I have a large church auditorium that uses a powerful HVAC system.
We installed an undercover for the grand DC system, and then I had the
chuch ladies sew up a string cover just like the Edwards cover.  They
used 3/8" dowels sewed in as battens.  Piano is holding well.   They
also keep the lid closed up when not in use.
