Hey David,

 

I usually cut the lead wire about 1/8 inch too long then one tap with a
small hammer swedges/compresses the lead level with the wood. I've never
had one come out. (Maybe I'm not understanding the thread...)

Where the heck do you find a small arbor press for lead in hammers?  I'm
not having any luck in my area...all 1 ton+
