I would simply use a 30 calibre gun barrel brush. This removes the glazing from powering out the pins. Mic the pins and place the narrow ones in the top treble, wide ones in the low bass. You might find a range of .005" Doing this will make the feel more uniform. For the single bass strings, jump up to the next length pin. This will give more holding power since the core is thick causing the coil be broader thus leaving less pin in the block for the same coil height above the plate as the rest of the pins. -- Regards, Jon Page
