I always have a 1/2" piece of plywood between the jack support block and the pinblock which allows the pin to go through the block, but still doesn't allow the bottom lamination to blow out. I also use scrap plywood while drilling the block for the same reason. Another problem with blowout is that you don't know if the bottom lamination is the only one damaged. In PB 2 it looks like the removed piece has revealed damage to the second lamination. Sorry, but I'd say that this block is a do-over.
