I'll second that motion.  We have a couple of closets that aren't ventilated. Instruments kept in them are much more stable than ones that aren't.  Even the same instruments.  Better than going from climate controlled to ambient, IMHO.

I've seen a 50-year-old B in an offstage storage room that was in excellent shape.  The room wasn't climate-controlled, but was fairly airtight.  Just being out of the wind of the frequent air exchange should help.
