Delighted to hear from you again Greg. I think its safe to say that the quality of your work is all in your hands, and if you do hot stuff... the instrument will respond with the best it has to offer. Now there is the crutch... does the instrument have a sound you can sell ? If not... do you want to try and get someone like Fandrich to help out with a redesign... Farrel can help you there. Pinblock replacement on these is a real test of your woodworking abilities I understand. I havent had to replace a block on Chickering... but the descriptions I hear sound interesting enough. Otherwise... nothing about them... including the brass flanges strikes me as anything to be daunted by. Its your call of course... but the name is well known and respected. If it looks and sounds good when you are finished, you should be able to sell it alright. Any new working skills you need to hone along the way are to my mind an investment in ones knowledge base... and therefor a good thing. I'll send you private a couple posts I received that you may find interesting. Cheers RicB Ric, Thanks for the reply. I'd love to hear what others have to say about this beasty. I'll be doing literally everything to this one. Board, bridges, block, finish, action .... everything. Just wondering if I'm either pricing it wrong or if I should be steering clear. all the best, Greg
