It is an effective way of making a small change in the leverage.  Shimming
out the wippen flange will also accomplish the same thing without having to
move the stack.  As Jon mentioned, you do need adequate clearance in the
balancier window.

Hey, don't knock stack relocation until you tried it. I've done it

many times, even drastically on a new-ish S&S (out of warranty).
