I expect I'm not the only one who found it impossible to keep up with 
the numerous posts on this interesting thread. Obviously it strikes a 
resonant chord...... (sorry).   At this point the only suggestion I'd 
like to add is that let us please just let the committee do their 
research and see what eventually is proposed- if anything.  It seems 
like a good thing to investigate, and naturally there are going to be 
some difficult questions once we get to sorting out the details, but I'd

hate to see the whole idea get beat around to death before it has a 
chance to properly germinated.  It might not work, who knows, but the 
only way it could work is to give our committee the space and time they 
need to come up with a plan.  Go from there.  Discussion is good, of 
course, but we're not going to sort it out here.
