[CAUT] pinning

You are not specific in your time frame. We cannot tell if the projection
was due to the pinning or the filing. To be objective, one needs to perform
only one task at a time. No matter how hard we try to keep ourselves out of
the equation, it has been shown that our influence alters the analysis of
the situation tremendously.

That being said,
1)The hammer head is incredibly important to the sound production.
2)I have seen Roger Jolly listen to a new piano and pick notes with loose
pins and in less than a minute, show us the difference in sound.

The wobble of a loose flange will eat up energy but not all wobble is caused
by the flange bushing. Incorrect lift by the jack or an unbalanced hammer
could contribute. Pinning tighter relieves the problem for awhile. IMHO
