[CAUT] Hammers for Baldwin Concert grand

Scott,

Two weeks ago I worked with Rick Baldassin voicing the first set of new of Weikert felt hammers. They are so new they don't even have a name yet! They are wonderful, and are different than ANY set of hammers on the market. He'll have some (I think) at the convention in Grand Rapids, and soon to come out for the public. Also ask Dale Erwin, because he and Rick are both involved with this company. As soon as they have them for sale (one month?) I am going to put these on everything I can. Rather than try to decribe them I'll see if there is some literature. In short, they are more like the pre-lacquered S&S of old, have a different "diamond" shape (kind of like the S&S manual depicts) yet they are pressed into this shape and not cut, thus maintaining the layers and not destoying their integrity. These are worth waiting for! More to come...

Subject: [CAUT] Hammers for Baldwin Concert grand

I'd like to get opinions/preferences for hammers to use on 1966 Baldwin concert grand. It will be located in a small recital hall. The last 2 Baldwin CG's I've used Renner, and Abel special press from Pianotek. Had really good results with the Abels with only having to use small amounts of lacquer.
I'm especially curious about the Wurzen and Weikerts.
Thanks all,
Scott Rogers RPT
