Jim:

When you consider that most artists will choose the familiar over the unfamiliar 50/50 is an amazing statistic considering that probably 90% of them had never played or chosen a Shigeru before.

We have a 9' Shireru. Nice piano. Over the last two years artists have chosen the Hamburg and Shireru 50/50. The Steinway dealer claimed we must not be prepping the Steinway well "because no one in their right mind would choose the Shigeru over a properly prepped S&S..." They offered to send their green tech over to teach us... I told them where they could send him.

David,
My vote would be a Shigeru Kawai. Please forgive my ignorance but what is a vineyard style hall? Lots of wine?

List,

I probably will be helping pick out some new concert pianos...different brands. What advice would you give for what to look for in a concert instrument...i.e. looking at 4 different Hamburgs and picking one out...
The hall will be a 850 seat, vineyard style...
