Did you clean the springs themselves?  Try that as well.

[CAUT] sohmer damper spring noise






Has anyone encountered a Sohmer 455K vertical where the damper springs 
ride in unfelted grooves?  I just worked on one and the springs were 
creaking audibly in the grooves when the pedal was depressed.  I tried 
graphite pencil, but this seemed to wear off after several cycles of the 
damper lever.  On closer examination, the springs had dug right through 
the graphite paint, ultimately riding on tiny spots of raw wood.  My first 
thought was to apply the usual felt pads, but how to make it stick 
reliably to the Dag?
