The various plate struts usually have individual resonances. They can be excited by piano hammer strikes, especially on the capo bar. The resonance may be that of a strut that is adjacent to the capo bar, rather than the capo bar itself. The unstrung S & S O that I currently have access to has a resonance between F#4 and G4 in the strut that spans the mid-range agraffe section. It can be excited by tapping the adjacent capo bar, and can even be heard when tapping the high treble capo. I don't know what will happen when the piano is restrung. This can be demonstrated without recourse to metaphysics, linguistics or complex syllogisms. Even a knuckle will do the job. ES
