If there is low friction at the bearing points, it is almost impossible to get a note to stay put, as there is nothing to keep the string from moving back and forth under the force of heavy playing. You may want to take a cotton ball, soaked in acetone, and lightly dab it on the string contact points. This will remove any lube and create a small amount of micro-corrosion that will help keep the string where you put it.
