Please forward How does one remove the action from a Kranich & Bach Grand? This piano, at least 100 years old, does not have the shifting action, but rather the vertical-type soft pedal that moves the hammer rail up closer to the strings. It does not slide out when removing cheeks , fall board and key slip. The action appears to be attached to the key bed. There are no visible screwsapparent screws at the front rail either beneath the keys or at the right and left of the action. Looking up at the bottom of the key bed from the floor there are four bolts with slotted nuts embedded in the keybed underneath. Are these what hold the action in? If so, it appears that a special tool is needed to turn the nuts out. Anyone seen this before? Any idea how to remove the action?
