Hey, Wim, Did you visit with the kids to tell them about pianos? We have a childrens' museum in Lincoln and I have thought about making an "out-reach" visit to the kids to tell them about pianos and how they work. Great PR for the university. I could give out parts to kids for a fun sort of thing. The kids used the parts to make mobiles. If Lincoln doesn't have that kind of museum, perhaps you can give them to a pre-school. I have done so for years. until today. I just finished installing new hammers and shanks on a practice room grand. I took the old parts, put them in a box, put it outside the door of my shop with a sign saying,"Free Steinway Hammers". It's been about an hour, and most of them are now gone! I heard lots of students talking about it and searching for certain numbers like 21,22,23 etc. probably their ages. Just thought it would be a fun experiment....and it's working.
