When I was in Tuscaloosa, I took old parts to a children's hands on museum. The kids?used the parts to make mobiles. If Lincoln doesn't have?that kind of museum, perhaps you can give them to a pre-school.???

Does everyone out there simply throw out your worn out action parts? ?I have done so for years. until today. ?I just finished installing new hammers and shanks on a practice room grand. ?I took the old parts, put them in a box, put it outside the door of my shop with a sign saying,"Free Steinway Hammers". ?It's been about an hour, and most of them are now gone! ?I heard lots of students talking about it and searching for certain numbers like 21,22,23 etc. ?probably their ages.

Just thought it would be a fun experiment....and it's working.
