Does everyone out there simply throw out your worn out action parts? I have done so for years. until today. I just finished installing new hammers and shanks on a practice room grand. I took the old parts, put them in a box, put it outside the door of my shop with a sign saying,"Free Steinway Hammers". It's been about an hour, and most of them are now gone! I heard lots of students talking about it and searching for certain numbers like 21,22,23 etc. probably their ages. Just thought it would be a fun experiment....and it's working.
